We are so glad that you are considering joining our family! Here at Ithaca Church of God, we have many ways for you to dig deeper in your faith and get involved within the Body of Christ. We have some great programs on Sunday mornings for the entire family, as well as different programs and events throughout the week.
We understand the importance of having a place for your children to go on Sunday mornings during service. Adults need time to be able to focus on the worship and message. Kids also need time to be able to be kids and learn about Jesus in a way that better suits them. We have a great children's program. Chris has been overseeing our kids program and leading classes as well. We have classes for kids from birth to 5th grade. Each classroom is designed with your child's age in mind. Each class has toys and activities that kids will enjoy based on their age.
The nursery has plenty of baby toys, baby seats and rockers. Our volunteers are ready to take care of your baby at the highest level of safety.
When you check in to children's church, if you child is birth to preschool, you will also receivce a pager. We don't intend to need your assistance, but should something come up, your pager will light up and vibrate. At that time, we ask that you return to the children's church and speak with the volunteers.
If your child is grade-level age, we will simply check them in and direct them to their own class.
All of our volunteers have been cleared through background checks. They are all well trained on taking care of your wonderful children. They are also trained on safety procedures, should anything happen. All of this is to ensure that you can sit back in service and receive what the Lord has for you.
Our youth group has two services to attend. Sunday morning, the youth meet at 9:30am in the prayer room for a short Bible study. On Sunday nights, they meet at 6pm for a full service. These services include a snack time, worship, games and a lesson time. Our dedicated volunteers have a huge heart for teens and a passion to see them come to and understand the love of Jesus.
Aside from Sunday services, the youth group has different activities and events throughout the year. In July, they will be headed to Orlando, Florida for the International Youth Conference where they will have time to really experience the love of God. With speakers, worship and plenty more, they won't want to miss this event.
We have a lot of small groups that meet throughout the year. On Sunday mornings, our small groups meet at 9:30am for a short time to study the Word of God as a group of believers. The leader introduces a topic and Scripture and follows with open discussion. This is a great time to build yourself up in the Word and get to know some other folks.
Throughout the year, we also have life groups that meet at different times. Check with one of our leaders to find the best life group for you.
Our goal is to bring you in, get you built up in the Word, get you involved in service to the Body and then send you out to tell the world all about the God who loves us.
